George W. Holtzman, Broker and co-owner of Coldwell Banker Holtzman, Realtors began his career in 1974 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Eight months into his career he learned of the reactivation of the 24th Infantry Division at Fort Stewart. George, a native of a small town in North Carolina and a Vietnam Army veteran liked the Hinesville / Fort Stewart area and the future it offered to his wife, Babs, and their son, Greg.

George and his family moved to Hinesville in March of 1975. He immediately became involved with church and community activities. In 1976, the community elected him President of the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce. That year, the Old Hinesville Jail was renovated, “Progress Through People” (PTP) breakfasts began, and many other progressive steps were made.

George, in partnership with John Barnes, opened Holtzman and Barnes, Realtors in April of 1978 on Memorial Drive. They moved into their new building, which is the present location of Coldwell Banker Holtzman, Realtors, on December 1, 1979. Georgie and Babs then acquired John Barnes’ interest in the business and renamed the company Holtzman and Associates in July of 1980.

In the fall of 1983, they were invited to join the Coldwell Banker family. They felt honored to have been selected by the premier real estate organization in America. After a short deliberation they decided to join the Coldwell Banker team. In February 1984, they proudly became Coldwell Banker Holtzman, Realtors.

Babs Holtzman is Associate Broker and co-owner of the company. Babs devotes her time to supervising the office staff who conducts the affairs of the property management section and the insurance company. George devotes his time to managing the sales organization and training new sales associates. George and Babs’ goal was to become a full-service real estate company.
